As a curator, I align creative works and artists with a final destination and collection. At Kali Grey Art Consulting, I curate the ways artworks can be interpreted by the people who see them, in the most impactful way possible.
Curation means considering a client's project in immense detail to present the best artists for the job. I'm a creative storyteller, expressing how art should be displayed and seen, and taking bold, charismatic risks to embrace the unusual and unexpected.
With a large artist roster and over a decade in the art industry, I hand-pick and negotiate deals with artists who can be hard to reach. I pull from years of experience and my own aesthetic value to compile a unique roster for every project:
Rely on deep industry research and understanding. I evaluate current trends in contemporary culture, the art market, interior design, events, or whatever vertical I'm working in.
Consider medium and substrate. I determine what type of artist lends itself best to the project.
Align all works with the creative theme. I make sure everything fits the overarching narrative.
Ensure authenticity between artist, client, and project. I evaluate whether an artist's location, background, and reputation align with the story we're here to tell.
Create a cohesive collection. I make sure multiple artworks and artists complement each other to build an engaging space.
Select final artworks and artists. I review work through several rounds of revisions until we've reached complete client satisfaction.
