The CareOregon Art Program
multiple locations, OregonCareOregon wanted art to do more than fill walls. Together, we built a program around the idea that creativity connects people, supports well-being, and reflects the communities the organization serves.
We worked with their internal team on a curatorial strategy designed to hold across multiple facilities and stay true to CareOregon's mission. Every choice, from artist selection and commissioned works to placement and future programming, shaped how employees, patients, and visitors move through those spaces.
The program is organized around five dimensions of well-being: physical, mental, emotional, social, and environmental. It centers Oregon artists from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences. The permanent collection is a starting point. Plans include commissions, educational programming, community workshops, and interactive work that keeps art and care in conversation over time.
The goal was never decoration. CareOregon wanted art that makes people stop, that feels specific to Oregon, and that holds up to daily contact for years.
