Exotic Lounge

Portland, Oregon

The owners at Exotic Lounge had two big plywood boards flanking their entryway, right where the bouncer checks IDs, and they wanted something on them that actually said something about the place. They asked for one thing: female beauty. We paired them with a local artist who works in hyperrealism at a large scale and gave her full creative freedom to run with it in her own style.

She painted a portrait of a Black woman with natural hair, imagined as if she's living in some kind of utopian future, her smile wide and warm enough that you can't walk past it without noticing. The artist built the piece with heavy contrast, warm reds and oranges pushing against cool blues and purples, which gives the whole face real depth even from across the street. It turned two blank plywood boards into something people actually stop to look at, and gave the lounge a way to connect with everyone walking by, guests or not.

Want a piece that turns a blank wall into something people remember? Kali Grey can pair you with the right artist to make something that fits your space. Reach out and let's talk about your vision.
