Nike’s Jordan Brand x Travis Scott

Portland, Oregon

Portland agency Two Dogs in a Boat usually works on Nike's most exclusive celebrity seeding projects, the kind that never make it into anyone's portfolio. So when they asked us to collaborate on a hand painted photo booth mural for a private meeting with Travis Scott and his team, we said yes fast. The event was happening at Castaway here in Portland, and the mural needed to do three jobs at once: set the mood, split the room, and back up the photo booth. We went with an 8 by 12 foot freestanding wall, big enough to hold real detail and still fill a camera frame. Anything smaller and you lose both.

For the design, we leaned into Cactus Jack and Travis's Utopia era, building a Nike-flavored desert dreamland with a local artist who happens to be a die-hard Nike fan. We reworked the Jordan Brand logo just for that one night, then set real cacti and product in front of the mural so the whole thing felt more like a pop-up than a backdrop. There's a photo from that night of the Jordan Brand team standing next to Travis Scott in front of the wall we painted. We're still smiling about it, and hoping it's the first of a few more projects with Nike and Jordan Brand.
